While we knew opening a new winery during the pandemic would be a challenge, we also knew that a priority was to have a storefront to warmly welcome visitors and guests to our family run establishment. And it’s finally happened! For many of you who have enjoyed the wonderful tastings with our winemaker in the past, we showcased our award-winning wines in a cozy, yet working, environment (in other words, the actual winery). It was ‘authentic’ but not ideal, we know this – and we also know how cold it was in the winter. Hence the priority to make a more comfortable space for our guests.
Located to the north of the main house, signs will point you to the right direction to enter our dual-purpose tasting room and store. While it may look like a garage from the outside (it was), the inside has ample tasting tables, wine on display and for purchase, and most importantly – heat. It may not be the fanciest wine-store in Niagara – you will never see a crystal chandelier within 500 feet of our winery – it is functional and serves as a great venue to sample and buy the best of what Wending Home has to offer.
